Standing In Long Lines – 11 Things To Do

Although we don’t wait in long lines very often, we realize that others will, especially if you can’t get a Fastpass+ for a ride with a notoriously long standby wait like Toy Story Midway Mania. Here are some things you can do to pass the time while standing in long lines.

Top 11 Things To Do While Standing In Line at Walt Disney World

  1. Take in the scenery. Many of the line waits have things to look at and interact with. For example, Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid has a tiny interactive crab that will follow you through the outside wait queue. Haunted Mansion has many tombstones to read. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has things to play around with in line, and Peter Pan has bedroom scenes set up in the inside standby area.

Fastpass+ – The Best Uses at Magic Kingdom

Fastpass+ Long Wait Times

Walt Disney World parks have notoriously long wait times for their most popular attractions. Here are some rides that we recommend obtaining a Fastpass+ for, as well as rides we opt for standby instead. Of course, you can only have 3 Fastpass+ to start. Once you’ve used your 3 Fastpass+, you may add one at a time at any Fastpass+ kiosk. Choosing wisely for your party will help you manage your time more efficiently.

  1. Pirates of the Caribbean – Lines for this swashbuckling ride can get pretty long, and for good reason. The scenes inside are well done and the ride lasts a decent amount of time. Plus, it has just enough thrill for wimps like me who hate big drops.

Backpack Talk – What’s Inside Ours?

Usually when we go to Walt Disney World, it’s just for the day. Being an hour and a half drive away from the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, or Animal Kingdom has its perks! And since we don’t have children, what we pack in our backpack is only for us. Here are some things that we pack that may make your day at the parks more enjoyable.

    Our Must-Have Backpack Items

  1. The best thing we’ve found so far are Stanley thermos’. I am not kidding when I say that we can put ice in in the morning, and have ice at the end of the day. Solid ice. It may melt a little if we’re opening it and exposing it to the heat often, but it’s worth it. We bought ours at Target, but Amazon has them here. These are a must pack, especially during the summer months.

SOTMK – 12 Tips & Tricks

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, also known as SOTMK, is an interactive card game at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, and is a free and addictive attraction. Sometimes we head over to Magic Kingdom JUST to play SOTMK. Today we’d like to share some tips and tricks we’ve learned along the way.

Things We’ve Learned While Playing SOTMK

  1. Every member in your party (even non-players) can get a free pack of cards each day after entering the park.
  2. You must open your last portal before picking up your daily free pack of cards. Don’t remember which portal you ended at last time? Simply open ANY portal and it will show you which portal you should go to. It is noteworthy that some cast members only require you open any portal before getting your free deck of cards, whereas others will send you away until you’ve opened the portal you ended at last time. We’ve had mixed results.
