Hard To Get Dining Reservations

With so many dining options in Walt Disney World, you’re pretty guaranteed to find a fantastic table service restaurant. But some of the most unique experiences can be pretty tough to snag. Today, I’ll discuss some steps to help catch that elusive advanced dining reservation!

Hard To Get Dining Reservations

Magic Kingdom features two recognizable castles, Cinderella’s and Beast’s respectively. But getting inside for dinner can be a near impossible feat. Luckily, there are some ways to give yourself a better chance.

Skipper Canteen – Disney Dining Review

The Magic Kingdom is the world’s busiest theme park but up until recently the variety of dining options have been limited to mostly quick service locations and character meals. Recently, Disney is making efforts to not only add more restaurants but more variety to the types of cuisine offered. One of the more unique additions is the Jungle Cruise themed Skipper Canteen. After a lengthy journey through exotic rivers, we stepped off the boat and into the canteen for lunch.

The first thing a Disney parks fan notices about the Skipper Canteen is the theming. Like the ride it is based on, the restaurant is under the banner of the Jungle Navigation Company and the wait staff is dressed much like their seafaring counterparts on the other side of Adventureland. Also, like their friends from the ride, they are armed with some over the top jokes.

Yak & Yeti – Disney Dining Review

Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom spans the most acres of any Disney park in the world. Despite this, it contains very few table service dining options. Recently, I visited one of these limited restaurants. Just past the Tree of Life and under the shadow of Expedition Everest is the two story Yak & Yeti restaurant where I discovered one of the most diverse menus on property.

With rain pouring down on Animal Kingdom, I pushed in to the tight lobby of the Yak & Yeti. The little room was packed with people trying to avoid the downpour, preventing me from getting much of a first impression and even nearly missing our table call amongst all the noise. Once inside, I was treated to the eclectic theming of the restaurant.

Like so much of Animal Kingdom, you feel transported across the world as you dine at Yak & Yeti. The variety of knick knacks displayed throughout the restaurant mixed with the splashes of clashing colors take you south of the replicated mountain into an Indian residence. If it weren’t for the loyalty program advertisement on the table, you could feel entirely swept away in the theming.

Be Our Guest – Disney Dining (Almost) Review

Amongst all of the dining options available inside Walt Disney World’s four parks, one of the most coveted reservations is dinner at Be Our Guest. While some exceptional planners try to jump on the 180 day window as soon as it opens, they can still find themselves missing out. But if you’re flexible and willing to wait until the last minute, you can scoop up some cancellations within a day or two of your dining plans. That is how we ended up sitting in the Beast’s ballroom for the restaurant’s only table service meal.

As you walk through Fantasyland, you’ll begin to see Beast’s castle in the distance a little past the Mine Train. As you attempt to walk towards this, you’ll find the kiosk near the bridge that leads to Be Our Guest. Once your table is ready, you’ll cross the bridge and wait for a host to seat you. The massive double doors will magically open and you will find yourself in entering into memorable chambers from the film as they present your dinner.

Wave – Disney Dining Review

Walt Disney World’s resort loop resorts house some of the most coveted accommodations on property. The deluxe resorts maintain some of the best rooms, quickest access to the Magic Kingdom, and beautiful views. Amongst all of the amenities on site include a variety of sit-down dining options. Today, we’ll look at one of the more accessible dining options offered at the Contemporary Resort: The Wave Restaurant.

On the first floor of this towering resort, tucked in the corner next to the front desk, is The Wave’s tunnel entrance. The short ramp brings you to the host desk and a chic lounge where you can wait for your table. With the thematic lighting and the small tables, the lounge evokes the feel of a hip urban bar.
