With so many dining options in Walt Disney World, you’re pretty guaranteed to find a fantastic table service restaurant. But some of the most unique experiences can be pretty tough to snag. Today, I’ll discuss some steps to help catch that elusive advanced dining reservation!
Hard To Get Dining Reservations
Magic Kingdom features two recognizable castles, Cinderella’s and Beast’s respectively. But getting inside for dinner can be a near impossible feat. Luckily, there are some ways to give yourself a better chance.
- Lock It Up Early! – You can book dining reservations up to 180 days in advance. If you know your vacation plans that far out, jump on this as soon as possible because the most popular reservations still go that fast!
- Keep Trying! – You missed out on the 180 day window. That’s fine. Things happen. But things also happen to other people’s plans. 6 months is a long time and there will be cancellations. Don’t give up and check every so often.
Be Flexible! – For some, cancellations happen at the last moment before they’re charged a penalty. That’s usually within one or two days of the reservation. That could be cutting it a bit close to have plans up in the air but if you can fit some changes into your vacation plans this may get you in to meet the Beast.
Have A Backup! – Have something in place just in case. Sometimes we all have to face reality, sometimes your princess is in another castle. So, take a good look at suitable backups. Cinderella may greet guests in her castle but she also sees diners at the Grand Floridian’s 1900 Park Fare.
Ask At The Front! – It never hurts to ask. Maybe that ADR didn’t show up on the app but someone didn’t show up for their table. See if you can walk in. The worst that can happen is what was already happening.
Be Open To New Things! – And in the end, if everything else fails, enjoy the experience you could get. Sometimes the backup can be more enjoyable than the original plan. Don’t be hung up by what didn’t happen and just enjoy your time.
These are the best tips I have seen for going after those hard to get tables. You can definitely find a little Disney magic in trying and trying but remember to relax and enjoy yourself. And if you find these useful, please share with your friends!
